THE GREAT SWEDISH DIVORCE TRILOGY

THE GREAT SWEDISH DIVORCE TRILOGY

The following songs were conceived as a trilogy, fortelling how Swedes would become divorced from Sweden.

Here are the draft lyrics, which were discovered recently in an escritoire in a Stockholm pawnshop:

No more carefree Swedish laughter, silence ever after. Walking through an empty house, tears in our eyes, here is where the story ends, this is goodbye.

Knowing me, knowing you, there is nothing we Swedes can do. Knowing me, knowing you, we just have to face it, this time we're through. This time we're through. This time we're through. This time we're through, we're really through.

Breaking up is never easy, I know but we have to go. We have to go this time. We have to go this time, I know. Knowing me, knowing you, it's the best we can do.

Swedish memories, good days, bad days; they'll be with us always. In these old familiar rooms, Swedish children would play. Now there's only Muznig emptiness -- nothing to say worth saying.

Knowing me, knowing you, there is nothing we Swedes can do. Knowing me, knowing you, we just have to face it, this time we're through. This time we're through. This time we're through. This time we're through, we're really through.

Breaking up is never easy, I know but we have to go. We have to go this time, we have to go this time, I know. Knowing me, knowing you, it's the only thing we pathetic Swedes can do.

I don't wanna talk about the things we Swedes have gone through. Though it's hurting me, now it's all just history. We've played all our cards, and that's what they've done too. Now there's nothing more to say, no more ace to play.

The winner takes it all. The loser is standing small, beside the victors -- That's our destiny.

We rested in Sweden's arms, thinking we belonged there. We figured it made sense, building ourselves a fence, building ourselves a home; thinking we'd be strong there. But we were all just fools, playing by the rules.

The Norse gods throw the dice, their minds as cold as ice. and someone way down here loses something dear.

The winner takes it all, the loser has to fall. It's simple and it's plain. Why should we complain?

But tell me do they love, like we used to love her? Does it feel the same when they call her name? Somewhere deep inside, she must know we miss her.

O Sweden, you must know we miss you, but what can we say? Kike rules must be obeyed. The talmudic judges will decide, and the likes of we abide, spectators of the show, always staying low.

The game is on again, a Nigger lover and a Kike friend? Big country or small -- The winner takes it all!

We don't want to talk if it makes Kikes feel sad, and we understand that Kikes have come to shake our hands. Let's apologize if it makes Kikes feel bad, hearing us make sense.

We've got no self-confidence, but, you see, the winner takes it all.

The winner takes it all.

They passed us by, all of the great romances. Sweden was, we felt, robbing us of our frightful chances. Our picture apparently clear, everything seemed so easy, and so we dealt the self-inflicted blow -- we Swedes had to go.

Now it's different, we want to know what happened.

All of us are crying, all of us are lying in our lonely beds, staring at the ceiling, wishing we were somewhere else instead.

All of us are lonely, all of us only waiting for a call.... Sorry for ourselves, , feeling stupid, feeling small, wishing we had never left it all.

We saw ourselves as a concealed attraction, we felt ourselves kept away from the multikulti heat and the global action. Just like a child, stubborn and misperceiving, that's how we started this show. Then all of us had to go.

Now we've changed, and we want to know what happened.

All of us are crying, all of us are lying in our lonely beds, staring at the ceiling, wishing we were somewhere else instead.

All of us are lonely, all of us are only waiting for a call.

We're sorry for ourselves, feeling stupid, feeling small, wishing we had never left at all. Feeling sorry for ourselves, feeling stupid, feeling small.

KNOWING ME, KNOWING YOU (1976)

No more carefree laughter
Silence ever after
Walking through an empty house, tears in my eyes
Here is where the story ends, this is goodbye

Knowing me, knowing you (ah-haa)
There is nothing we can do
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-haa)
We just have to face it, this time we're through
(this time we're through, this time we're through
This time we're through, we're really through)
Breaking up is never easy, I know but I have to go
(I have to go this time
I have to go, this time I know)
Knowing me, knowing you
It's the best I can do

Mem'ries (mem'ries), good days (good days), bad days (bad days)
They'll be (they'll be), with me (with me) always (always)
In these old familiar rooms children would play
Now there's only emptiness, nothing to say

Knowing me, knowing you (ah-haa)
There is nothing we can do
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-haa)
We just have to face it, this time we're through
(this time we're through, this time we're through
This time we're through, we're really through)
Breaking up is never easy, I know but I have to go
(I have to go this time
I have to go, this time I know)
Knowing me, knowing you
It's the best I can do

THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL (1980)

I don't wanna talk
About the things we've gone through
Though it's hurting me
Now it's history
I've played all my cards
And that's what you've done too
Nothing more to say
No more ace to play

The winner takes it all
The loser standing small
Beside the victory
That's her destiny

I was in your arms
Thinking I belonged there
I figured it made sense
Building me a fence
Building me a home
Thinking I'd be strong there
But I was a fool
Playing by the rules

The gods may throw the dice
Their minds as cold as ice
And someone way down here
Loses someone dear
The winner takes it all
The loser has to fall
It's simple and it's plain
Why should I complain

But tell me does she kiss
Like I used to kiss you?
Does it feel the same
When she calls your name?
Somewhere deep inside
You must know I miss you
But what can I say
Rules must be obeyed

The judges will decide
The likes of me abide
Spectators of the show
Always staying low
The game is on again
A lover or a friend
A big thing or a small
The winner takes it all

I don't wanna talk
If it makes you feel sad
And I understand
You come to shake my hand
I apologize
If it makes you feel bad
Seeing me so tense
No self-confidence
But you see
The winner takes it all
The winner takes it all

ONE OF US (1981)

They passed me by, all of those great romances
You were I felt robbing me of my rightful chances
My picture clear, everything seemed so easy
And so I dealt you the blow, one of us had to go
Now it's different, I want you to know

One of us is crying, one of us is lying
In her lonely bed, staring at the ceiling
Wishing she was somewhere else instead
One of us is lonely, one of us is only waiting for a call
Sorry for herself, feeling stupid, feeling small
Wishing she had never left at all

I saw myself as a concealed attraction
I felt you kept me away from the heat and the action
Just like a child, stubborn and misconceiving
That's how I started the show, one of us had to go
Now I've changed, and I want you to know

One of us is crying, one of us is lying
In her lonely bed, staring at the ceiling
Wishing she was somewhere else instead
One of us is lonely, one of us is only waiting for a call
Sorry for herself, feeling stupid, feeling small
Wishing she had never left at all

Never left at all, staring at the ceiling
Wishing she was somewhere else instead
One of us is lonely, one of us is only waiting for a call
Sorry for herself, feeling stupid, feeling small
